Eddie’s Window!

Everybody look! Have a squiz at the latest and greatest Mac Pelican window, beautifully styled by the lovely Maddy just this morning.

It’s Eddie’s window! And no, you won’t know what I’m talking about as I haven’t even told you my news yet…. We had a baby 4 weeks ago - named Eddie. And what a little beauty he is! He is officially the love of my life (well I now have two), and he is the greatest little guy around. So the lovely Maddy has made him his very own window - complete with my favourite road map bunting.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again peeps, aint she just the best?! Oh yes she is.

And I promise to put up a little photo of the new man pronto.

Lovely Mosey

Some of you would have met the lovely Maddy who works here on Fridays and Saturdays by now. Did you know she makes the mobiles and blankeys that Mac Pelican sell, under her label Made by Mosey? Probably not, because she is far too humble to tell anyone when they admire them. Well she does make them.

If I had that talent I’d be shouting it to anyone that would listen. “Yes, that’s right I MADE THESE MYSELF! Yes me! I know, I’m fairly amazing, I agree!”

I was very lucky on Tuesday because Maddy not only bought in her brand new (never seen before) Kite mobile - don’t you love it? And a new blue cloud, as well as the new stars and moon mobile. And don’t forget those hankey blankeys people! But she also bought in 2 mini orange and poppyseed cakes for afternoon tea. One for me, one for mum. Yes I shared. And they were delish.

Oh Me Oh My Indeed!

You know what - I don’t even know where to start on this one. Truly, this has to be the most beautiful, amazing, inspiring artwork we’ve had at Mac Pelican. And that’s the honest truth.

Tuesday Designs is their name and these incredible artworks are their game. Sisters Taryn and Elise are the creative duo that started it all.

Dresses are meticulously pieced together from pieces of antique fabric, while birds peer from cages of embossed paper, or out of pear trees that look like clouds. Skirts hide the blackbird in the rain - each wing painstakingly pieced together after perhaps hours of sifting through piles of tiny off cuts searching for the perfect piece. Most are sourced from the remnants of vintage kimonos.

They are honestly breathtaking - the incredible detail makes me gasp.
