Mac Pelican

We are a boutique home, gift and accessories store, located in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, VIC. Mac Pelican focuses on local talent, natural products and one off pieces. Stocking everything from buttery leather bags and belts, to embroided cushions, handmade jewellery and scarves, and whittled wooden skipping ropes.

In addition to the many local products there is the occasional imported gem to provide the store with a unique range of gift and home wares. And of course we cater for the little people too, with beautifully crocheted toys, organic baby products and gorgeous nursery artwork.

Firstly friends, let me just say this. I cannot believe how many phone calls and enquiries I get regarding Walnut Shoes. Honestly, they have a cult following it seems. And why on earth not? They are fabulously cute, functional, easy and not to mention, awesomely priced shoes. And they go in the washing machine. Best. Feature. Ever.

Here is a sneaky peak of just a couple of new styles and colours for summer. They won’t be landing in store until September, but I can assure you, the new colour range is like you’ve died and woken up inside a pastel rainbow. Or something like that.

I think we all agree that finding a little note, or a long letter in our mail box is still the nicest way to keep in touch? Sure, maybe not the fastest, but still the cutest and kindest me thinks.

New to Mac Pelican is this beautiful stationery range from the girls at ‘Write to Me’ - local Melbourne sisters who still believe in hand writing. I think the buttons are my favourite.

What a lovely feeling - I stepped back into the shop on Monday, after leaving it in the ever so friendly and capable hands of Maddy over the weekend. And look what has grown in my absence!

Maddy made these totally awesome paper flowers out of old road maps. Just while she was sitting in here…. seriously! Even with little stitching and everything. Well I never! Her talent is unstoppable I tell you!

Don’t they just make these new glass vases from Have you Met Miss Jones and Zakkaya look super cute? Chose from one, three or four in a basket!
